When picking out throw pillows for your home, it can take a lot of time and thought. Different patterns, textures, colors, and sizes all come into account when choosing throw pillows.
Here are a few tips to help make the process easier!
Mix Textures and Prints
Throw pillows are a great way to add character and draw the eye around the room. Try mixing the textures of pillows or patterns.
However, don’t go overboard with ALL busy prints! When mixing prints we recommend one busy print, one solid color, and one simple print
Choose The Right Size
There are a variety of pillow sizes. However, if you have a small pillow on a large couch, it will look lost.
It’s best to group pillows, starting with the largest in back and smallest in the front.
Typically, we style 22×22 as the largest pillow, 20×20 or 18×18 as medium pillow, and a 14×20 as lumbar pillow.
Choose The Right Number
When you are figuring out the number of pillows to have on a couch, think in odd numbers.
5 pillows on a couch would = 2 large, 2 medium, 1 lumbar.
3 pillows on a couch = 2 medium, 1 lumbar.
If you feel like you have too many on a couch, then you probably do. Play around with it until you’re happy with the number!
Pick a Color Palette or Style
It’s important to stay within a similar color palette or style when choosing throw pillows. Use this as your inspiratoin when choosing all the pillows for that room.
If you choose pillows that have dramatically different styles, it will not look put together. Try to stay within a certain style or color palette.
We hope this helps you feel more confident in picking out throw pillows for your home!
