Kitchen remodels can cost lots of $$$. However, we’re showing you how a kitchen remodel can have a huge transformation with little cost.
This kitchen was in a neighborhood that was built in the 1950’s in La Crosse, WI. It has lots of character, but a small kitchen. The kitchen was last updated in the 90’s (those cupboards definitely needed to go or be painted).
The first thing to do was remove the cupboard so they could be painted. That is a huge savings, instead of replacing them.
We painted the Cabinets PPG Onyx. It’s a deep gray, almost black.
Then the rest of the kitchen was painted a bright white to give it a contrast. We wanted the cupboards to be the showstoppers.
Since we love to thrift, the hardware was found at the La Crosse Area’s Habitat ReStore. The antique brass is beautiful against the black cupboards.
We added a new light fixture and rug for finishing touches.
If you’re not able to replace the floor, adding a beautiful rug or runner can make a huge difference.
Here is a BEFORE & AFTER for you one last time!
Comment below your favorite part of the transformation, we’d love to hear from you!

I absolutely love the black and white contrast! The counter totally pops now and taking the curtains let’s in so much lovely light! The cabinet color matches so nicely with the sink faucet and the coffee maker! Lovely job! I really like how you guys thrifted the cabinet handles too!
