This kitchen was such a fun mix of mid-century modern and warm, organic textures. The home was built in the 1970s, so our clients wanted the kitchen to feel like it fit the mid-century style but with a more timeless and warm feeling. We were so inspired to mix their style preferences to create a space that would stand the test of time and truly serve them well.
For large remodel projects like this kitchen, we begin with a design meeting at the client’s home. We take pictures of the space, measure, and review any floor plans or renderings for the remodel. If needed, we can also provide clients with a 2D or 3D rendering of the space they want to be remodeled. In our meeting, we discuss the client’s wants, needs, and vision for their space as well as review their budget and discuss a project timeline. After this meeting, we are ready to prepare a personalized design plan. For instance, this client wanted this space to work really well for dinner gatherings and socializing. Keeping this desire in mind helped us direct the flow of the space, placement of appliances, and even lighting choices. Making sure we understand the hopes the client has for the space is crucial for getting the design right.
Once we have a plan, we meet again with the client to discuss the plan and receive feedback. From there, we make the needed changes so that the client is happy with the overall design. Throughout the remodel, we communicate with the client and their contractor, visit the remodel site as needed, and work to ensure everything goes smoothly from ordering to installation. We are able to source items for clients for anything we design; from tile and flooring to lighting and furniture, we pull the whole look together for you.
We love how this kitchen turned out! Timeless. Warm. Modern.
